Get Into History with the New Orleans Spring Fiesta – 2013

 

Well, Mardi Gras is underway and we survived the Super Bowl – it’s time to step back in time for the New Orleans Spring Fiesta.  The festival features two weekends of events packed full of historic New Orleans culture, and entertainment.  Make your reservation to stay at 1896 O’Malley House, to complete your weekend of history and elegance.

Events kick off on Saturday, March 2nd with a French Quarter Walking Tour in the morning.  This is a reasonably priced guided walking tour will give you the chance to explore the luxury and grandeur of historic homes that are not featured in any other walking tour.  Saturday afternoon features a walking tour of more historic homes in the Lower Garden District.  Enjoy stunning decor and intriguing stories of the homes among massive oaks.  Saturday ends with the presentation of the Spring Fiesta Queen and her court followed by a  “Night in Old New Orleans” Parade.

Walking Tours are available all day Sunday, March 3rd; Saturday, March 9th; and Sunday, March 10th.

To round off the Spring Festival, don’t miss the brunch on Saturday, March 9th at Antoine’s Restaurant.  Reserve your place as the brunch is limited to only 48 people.
