The New Orleans Burlesque Festival, September 19-21, 2013;  is a fitting event in our city, as burlesque is a signature attraction in the French Quarter, primarily popular from the mid-40’s through the 60s.  Having once been a staple to NOLA entertainment, modern burlesque was embraced during the 1995 revival and continues as one of our city’s traditions.

The event will be a blast!  Take in up to five burlesque shows featuring everything from male burlesque stars to a competition to determine the “Queen of Burlesque” – ending with the “Queen’s Ball.”  Throughout the festival, you can take in some workshops to improve your burlesque technique.  Explore the use of Jazz in your routine and participate in a high energy burlesque workout!  For more information about this event, see the website.
