Mardi Gras has now come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the fun and festivities have stopped in New Orleans! With the Fat Tuesday crowds dispersed, you can enjoy many more great events in our beautiful city, in the cooler Spring months before it gets really hot around here, weather-wise!

We’ve already talked about May in another article, but we don’t want to forget March, which is prime-time for festivals. The third month brings the opens in a new windowBuku Music and Art Project on the 13th &14th, followed by that good old NOLA tradition of opens in a new windowMardi Gras Indians Super Sunday on the 15th. You don’t want to miss opens in a new windowSt. Patrick’s Day Week (end), which brings block parties and parades galore that extend all the way into April! The weekend of the 21st starts a whirlwind of activities, starting with the opens in a new windowCongo Square New Worlds Rhythm Festival on Saturday and Sunday, the opens in a new windowNew Orleans Spring Fiesta, which includes French Quarter Home Tours, a parade and a festival, all week long, the opens in a new windowTennessee Williams Literary Festival from the 25th through the 29th, opens in a new windowFoodfest, an incredible street festival at the French Market on the 27th, the wonderfully-named opens in a new windowHogs for the Cause on the 27-28th at City Pork, er, Park, and finally, the opens in a new windowLouisiana Oyster Jubilee in the French Quarter on the 29th.
