As the old song says, “Mardi Gras is coming to town…”, or is that Santa Claus? Hmm – well, it’s already December! 2017 is drawing to a close, and Christmas is coming! But even in the midst of all the holiday festivities and fun, another BIG EVENT is just over the horizon and coming fast. Believe it or not, Mardi Gras is only 2 months away. That’s not a lot of time to find a great place to stay for all the parades and partying, especially when you take into account that is the New Orleans Tricentennial!

Some of the parades start as early as the beginning of January – like the Joan of Arc walking parade on January 6. This is the un-offical start of Mardi Gras, and a great way to enjoy a more low-key celebration than The Big Day. January 27th begins the parading in earnest – from then it’s off to the races until the final denoument on Tuesday, February 13, with the opens in a new windowfour big parades in New Orleans.
