New Year’s Eve – An All Night New Orleans Party!

Well the holidays are upon us which means 2013 is right around the corner!  So, may we ask, what are you doing New Year’s Eve?

As you know, the party never stops in New Orleans where there is something for everyone!

Enjoy live entertainment in Jackson Square where the revelry starts several hours before midnight.   Then at midnight, from the rooftop of Jax Brewery, a large object falls from an illuminated perch – a tradition signaling the start of 2013.  Join the festivities to find out exactly what the large object is, as it’s a mystery every year!  Then the skies of New Orleans brighten with its famous 15-minute firework show, displayed from two barges in the river.

For most people, this is when the New Year’s celebrating ends – but not in The Big Easy.  Throughout the city you can find local music, endless dancing, unique cocktails, and delicious food for hours; all of the things for which New Orleans is famous in one night!  For more information about New Year’s Eve merriment in New Orleans, please see New Orleans Online.  (This website also features the photo used in this blog.)

When you are ready to call it a night, return to 1896 O’Malley House Bed and Breakfast for a deep, comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning.
