The National WWII Museum of New Orleans

Step back to one of the most significant times in American history while you are staying at the 1896 O’Malley House Bed and Breakfast.  Less than four miles away you’ll find The National WWII Museum for an interesting and educational experience you won’t soon forget.  Reach back into our nations heritage in the variety of exhibits; each seeking to put personal stories and faces to important events.

Currently, you can explore Final Mission: The USS Tang Submarine Experience, which walks visitors through its final war patron which took place on October 25, 1944.  This experience puts you in a position to participate in a dangerous underwater battle that will reveal the bravery required by the sailors aboard the USS Tang.  You won’t want to miss this event!

Make the most of your visit to this museum by testing your instincts in an interactive environment.  Check out the unique What Would You Do?, an experience that requires visitors to  evaluate the difficult choices and make judgment calls to demonstrate the challenges encountered by men and women during WWII.

When you visit the museum, be sure to check out The Stage Door Canteen and American Sector Restaurants for entertainment and special events.  Be sure to fit this into your New Orleans itinerary when you are staying with us at 1896 O’Malley House Bed and Breakfast – you won’t regret the time.
