This neighborhood landmark is a not-to-miss New Orleans restaurant with a history. The  Parkway Bakery was started as a bakery in 1911 by Charles Goering, Sr and experienced ups and downs until 1993 when the doors were closed.  In 1995, Jay Nix purchased the bakery without any intention of reopening it.  Thankfully in 2003 he changed his plan and opened The Parkway Bakery and Tavern.

Now The Parkway is a destination for “Poor Boy” lovers, offering at least 20 different varieties including Fried Oysters on Monday!  Delicious New Orleans sides include Homemade Turkey & Alligator Sausage Gumbo and Sweet Potato Fries.  Relax with a beer, mixed drinks, or wine – and feel right at home!
